Each year, Click Bond nominates an outstanding employee for The Manufacturing Institute’s STEP Ahead Award, which recognizes women in science, technology, engineering, and production careers who exemplify leadership within their companies. It’s my great pleasure to say that one Click Bonder emerged as a clear choice for the 2020 nomination: Ellie Keene, Community Engagement Specialist.
Ellie joined Click Bond 14 years ago with the Packaging and Assembly team. Her curiosity and proven commitment led to her professional growth within the company, and she eventually moved through the ranks to Engineering, Marketing, and Communications. This cumulative experience has led to Ellie’s extensive knowledge about the company’s products and policies, as well as a deep desire to connect and engage colleagues with each other and the community at large. She has taken the company’s social media presence to a new level, helping to reshape the narrative of manufacturing in our community and within the industry, even earning recognition from the National Association of Manufacturers for her efforts.
Ellie’s work throughout the pandemic has contributed to bringing Click Bonders together — despite many of us being far apart. She has made a significant impact on our onboarding efforts, helping to make new employees feel welcomed into the Click Bond family. And her leadership of the Community Outreach Team continues to touch our communities in meaningful ways.
Competition is always tight for this prestigious national award, and although Ellie did not receive the 2020 STEP Ahead Award, it is a distinct privilege and honor among her peers to be nominated.
